Painting, oh painting...
This has been in and out of my 'working on' roster for a month. If there's anything I've finally learned this semester, it's to stick with things when you don't like them, and fix things when their not working. It's helped me come up with some much better work and feel a lot better about my finished products. It's still not finished but it has come a LONG way from that first iteration!

Zombies...zombies everywhere
Finally...brushes!
Now that I finally have PaintTool SAI, thanks to a good friend I've been able to really stretch my legs with digital painting and start trying new things. I don't really have any experience with brushes beyond a basic hard, round, so this is all very exciting....I probably went a little overboard with this one.....
It is amazing how different an experience digital painting is when you're actually utilizing the full versatility of the brushes. I still have a lot (everything) to learn about this, but I can already see it makes a huge improvement on the overall quality of pieces.
Artrage...pretty cool guy.
A couple weeks ago I decided to try out Artrage. It's a pretty damn cool program, and allows for some freedoms that can be difficult to come by when using say, photoshop or SAI. Normally I don't care for programs that are basically traditional medium simulators, but something about Artrage really had me enjoying the process. Hopefully I'll continue to play around with it and really see what it can do...
And so it begins
Since I've actually been pretty on top using the internet to post art this semester, I figure it's high time I return to my dreaded nemesis...the blog. I tend to post for a very short period of time, and then forget about these things, but this time, I am determined.
I have been using my Deviantart page and tumblr page, but I feel like neither really fits the bill a fluid posting of art. DA has been good, and will continue to be a good place to put finished pieces, but I don't want to clutter is with WIPs and anything that's not really a completed piece. Tumblr on the other hand, just has too much going on, and isn't really a good place to view art. Not to mention the commenting system is atrocious and allows for very limited and awkward conversations.
I'll still be using both of those pages of course, I just think in terms of art, I'll get the most out of blogger. Not to mention, pretty much every cool artist I know uses blogger, so in the mean time I can keep up with all my favourite artists!
